RODRIGO CARO GARDENS
Barcelona, 2008
The location of the gardens is the result of the extension of Rodrigo Caro Street towards the west, previously without exit and today connected with Artesania Street. In this way, a green public space is created in a steep topography with 20 meters of unevenness spread over three platforms joined by accessible ramps with 6% inclination. Slopes with bioengineering actions together with plantations with native and other non-native species but perfectly adapted to the Mediterranean climate ensure a correct operation against erosion. Two platforms close to the built limit are reserved for comunity gardens, recovering an activity already carried out spontaneously in the area previously.
